The College offers two types of assessment:
Standard assessment
Standard assessments are suitable for potential trainees who have a clear idea about the course they want and the area of work they want to progress into. The purpose of the day is to get to know the abilities and aspirations of the trainee, so the College can ensure a suitable plan and support are in place for the start of the programme.
Extended assessment
Extended assessments are suitable for people who are unsure about their employment opportunities and are in need of some help, advice and direction. Trainees work with a multi-disciplinary team including specialists in low vision, employment, IT, work skills and independence skills to identify training and job opportunities and assess their skills, capabilities and strengths.
