RNIB College Loughborough is a national college with trainees attending from all over the country. Therefore the college provides the opportunity for both day and residential placements.
Those living within the surrounding areas have the option to travel in on a daily basis and reasonable travel expenses may be paid for as part of the funding by the college. Trainees living locally also have the option to choose a residential placement if they wish.
The College has two residential options available. The College house and our halls of residence.
The College house is fully equipped and offers trainees an independent living environment within the local community. Trainees have their own bedrooms and share kitchen dining and living facilities.
The Halls of residence offer a more supported living environment, ideal for trainees looking to develop their independent living skills. The residencies are staffed 24 hours a day and offer en-suite bedroom accommodation with shared kitchen, dining and living areas.
Trainees have a leisure programme they can access during the evenings and at weekends. Trainees help to decide what activities take place and these can include things such as visits to bars, restaurants, cinema, gym, swimming and shopping trips. Trainees who live locally are also able to access this leisure programme.
