Directions to RNIB College Loughborough and the Stan Bell Centre (College halls of Residence)

Loughborough is in the East Midlands, close to Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. Junction 23 of the M1 is less than three miles from the College and there is a direct rail service to London which takes approximately one and a half hours. Nottingham East Midlands Airport is 8 miles away.

As Loughborough is so central most parts of the country are easily and quickly accessible, making the College a popular choice for students from all over the UK.

The College is close to Loughborough town centre and approximately two miles from the local railway station, a local bus service runs from the station directly to the College on a regular basis.

By Car

From M1 Junction 23 or A42 via the A512

1. Drive towards Loughborough along the Ashby Rd (A512). Pass through 2 sets of traffic lights and go straight ahead at first roundabout, signposted Town Centre, (the university campus will be on your right).
2. Take 2nd exit at next roundabout (A512) signposted town centre - do not follow the sign to the Colleges /University which is the 3rd exit- there is no access to the RNIB College.
3. Turn 1st right onto Radmoor Rd, you will notice St Mary's Roman Catholic Church on the left at the junction of Radmoor Rd and Ashby Road.

From Leicester via the A6

1. Head towards Loughborough on the A6 at the One Ash roundabout take the 2nd exit (A6004) signposted Ring Road College / Universities.
2. Straight over at Woodthorpe roundabout (A6004 signposted town centre)
3. Straight over at Park Road roundabout (A6004 signposted town centre)
4. Straight over at Beacon Road roundabout (A6004 signposted College/University)
5. Straight over Forest Road roundabout (Loughborough University is on the left and Loughborough College on the right - there is no access to RNIB via Loughborough College campus)
6. Continue to Ashby Rd roundabout, take 3rd exit (A512) signposted town centre
7. Turn 1st right onto Radmoor Rd. You will notice St Mary's Roman Catholic Church is on the left at the junction of Radmoor Rd and Ashby Road.

From Nottingham via the A60

1. Drive into Loughborough along the Nottingham Road (A60) and over the traffic lights just past the Railway Station.
2. Turn right down Clarence St. (1st significant right turn)
3. Drive straight over the traffic lights at Meadow Lane junction into Toothill Rd, continue along this road (you will pass the Rushes Shopping Centre on your left).
4. Approach the T-junction (Kwik Fit is on the left), turn right at the traffic lights (signposted Derby)
5. After 50 yards turn left after the Regent Place Retail Park into Regent Street and drive to end to T-junction.
6. At T-junction turn right onto Ashby Rd and immediate left after traffic lights entering Radmoor Rd.

Onwards from the junction of Radmoor Road and Ashby Road

To come to the College:

Drive down Radmoor Road. RNIB College and car park is the last building on the left before entering the Loughborough College campus.

To come to the Stan Bell Centre (College Halls of Residence):

Turn immediately left down Burleigh Road, go to the end and turn right down William Street. Drive to the end where there is a junior school on the right. The Stan Bell Centre is opposite it on the left. You can park there. To access the College, walk down the path on the left of the junior school.

As a visitor you can park in the RNIB Staff Car Park and report to College reception.

Important note

No access via Loughborough College campus. Although Loughborough College is close to RNIB College Loughborough, there is no access to RNIB College via Epinal Way or Loughborough College campus. Many maps do not show this, so please go by the directions and maps provided here.

By rail

Loughborough is on the main London to Sheffield railway line (an hour and a half from London, St Pancras).

The College is a 10 minute taxi ride from the station. To book tickets and assistance call 08457 484 950.

By taxi

There is a taxi rank at the station; the College is a brief 10 minute taxi ride.

By bus

The Number 7 Kinch Shuttle bus leaves from outside the station every 10 minutes. Make sure you ask the driver to drop you at the RNIB College entrance on Radmoor Road.
