RNIB College Loughborough supports adults with sight loss and other disabilities committed to securing employment through skills training, job search support, job coaching and mentoring and planned work placements.

The course can include areas such as:

• Employment Skills
• IT with access technology training
• Independent living skills
• Mobility and independent travel skills
• Numeracy and communication
• Braille Skills
• Work experience through work placements
• Confidence building

RNIB College also works in partnership with Loughborough College to offer part-time and professional qualifications.

How are the programmes funded?

Programmes are funded through the Department for Work and Pensions, and can cover the costs of your course as well as food, equipment, transport and accommodation if needed.

Your Disability Employment Advisors at your local JobCentre Plus can arrange funding for you.

What support do we provide for trainees?

RNIB College Loughborough provides the highest levels of support for trainees to ensure that the programme and course materials are accessible. A range of the latest technology and resources are available and depending on a trainee's needs we can provide computers with enlarged graphics, speech or Braille. As well as this we have a wide range of CCTV and low vision aids, dictaphones, tactile aids, adapted keyboards and talking scanners.

Staff are available throughout the college day to provide advice, guidance, learning support and help with the use of learning technology. Our on-site Adaptation and Transcription team are available to produce course materials and handouts in an accessible format and the team can turn work around in five working days.
