Mick - Senior Learning Assistant
My day can be quite varied and involves working one-to-one with learners to improve their Jaws, Zoom Text and keyboard skills, proof reading documents and assisting tutors with training sessions.
The College is a great place to work. When you see learners leaving their course with new qualifications, it's a great feeling. I also get the chance to improve my skills through regular training.

Emmanuel - Assistant Care Manager
A typical day for me involves supervising and working alongside the dedicated team of residential staff, whilst interacting and supporting learners to develop their independence.
I like being able to make a difference by empowering learners through independence. There is a real 'family feel' at the College and I have witnessed dedication beyond the call of duty from the team.

Sarah - Catering and Hospitality Trainer
As Catering and Hospitality Trainer my duties include working in the College café and training learners in customer service. I also provide support for learners in lifestyle sessions where they practise independent living skills like making hot drinks, doing their laundry and keeping their flat clean and tidy. It is such a rewarding job and every day brings something new.

Scott - Learning Support Assistant
My everyday tasks include supporting learners in lesson times and encouraging them to take on the tasks as independently as they can. The RNIB College has some of the most polite and enthusiastic learners I have ever worked with and there is always a really nice atmosphere. For me the best thing is getting to know the learners and seeing them progress in the learning environment.

Steve - Extended Curriculum Coordinator
As the Extended Curriculum Coordinator a large amount of my job involves arranging trips and activities for learners to participate in during the evenings and at weekends.
The best thing about my job is to see the learners out and about, experiencing different places and activities. Working here you get the chance to see the learners when they first arrive and then watch them grow in confidence and make new friends.

Fran - Adaptation and Transcription Team Leader
My main duties are to coordinate the team and to prioritise work schedules to ensure our strict deadlines are met. I also check the work to make sure that it is transcribed to a high standard.
I really enjoy the fact that my job keeps me busy and I always feel like the work we do really contributes to the success of the learners by enabling them to progress on to the next stage of their education and lives.

Suzie - Senior Administrator
As Senior Administrator my job involves many different aspects. I deal with new starters, leavers, changes to contracts and advertising and recruiting new positions within the College.
My advice to anyone thinking about applying at the College is to do some research first and ensure that you fully complete the application form using relevant examples. So often I see application forms where people have a lot of experience and expertise to offer but due to a lack of information in their application we are unable to invite them to interview.
