How do we support you?

The RNIB College has a dedicated learning support team based in Loughborough College who can assist you in and out of class. Depending on your support needs a Learning Supporting Assistant (LSA) can help you in a number of ways, such as taking notes in the classroom reading through course materials, or finding your way around College.

Our Adaptation and Transcription (A&T) team make sure that all of your learning materials are produced in an accessible format, such as large print or braille. We then ensure that all of your handouts, classwork etc are in your preferred format and that you get these at the same time as the rest of the class.

You will also have an RNIB tutor, who will regularly meet with you to discuss progress you are making and to agree your learning targets.

I am now coming to the end of my second year at the RNIB College where I am studying A Level Economics, Law and Psychology. I have applied to York University to study politics, philosophy and economics.

Last year I was part of a 17 strong England visually impaired cricket team, who flew to Australia to compete for `the Ashes`. Earlier in the year I also became the first person in Britain to be allowed to take a guide dog into a mosque. As you can tell I have a busy life!

Loughborough College tutors are the best and most supportive I have ever had.
