Opportunities for Day Students

The College's residential facilities and evening and weekend activities are available to students who travel daily to the College. Students can attend sessions on a regular or ad-hoc basis to fit in with their other leisure interests.

The safe environment of the College's residences offers the ideal environment to practice independent living skills to assist transition to a supported or independent living setting. this provides the perfect opportunity fro students to experience living away from the family.

During their stay, students can take part in the extended curriculum or have support to access the local community, or relax in the residencies. Staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide personal care and medical support required. Before the first stay, staff will work with the learner and their parents/carers to ensure the correct level of care and support is in place for their visit.

Funding for additional stays and activities

A number of taster sessions for evening, day time weekend or overnight stays are provided free of charge. After these additional charges for support staff and individual activities vary dependent on the level of support required and the type of activity. Further occasional or regular stays can be funded through direct payment/personalised budgets, directly through social services or by the family.
