Partnerships for Employment Awards

On Wednesday 11 June 2008 the RNIB College held their annual partnerships for employment awards. These awards celebrate the contribution that employers from Leicestershire and beyond have made in providing work placements and employment for people with disabilities.

This year saw 58 organisations congratulated for helping College learners gain the skills, qualities and experience that is needed to be successful in the workplace.

The main award winners this year were:

• Leicestershire Centre for Intergrated Living - Main award winner
• Wishes Cancer Research UK Ltd - Special recognition award
• RNIB College Administration Team - Internal work placement award

Alicia Wisehall, College Employment Placement Executive said "Each year we see more organisations help our learners with work placements, employment and mock interviews. Without this industry help we would not be able to achieve our success in getting people with disabilities into employment."
