Thanks for choosing to take a look at our website. This must mean that you are looking for a specialist education provider. I hope that you find what you are looking for from this site.
We are a small friendly community welcoming people on a residential or day basis. People come with a wide range of abilities and from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. Our aim is to help you make the most of your potential.
Our aim is to help you make the most of your potential.
Many but not all of college learners are blind, have a sight problem or visual impairment. People also join us with learning difficulties, mild to moderate autism; including Asperger's syndrome, physical mobility difficulties, chronic illness, hearing loss or mild to moderate mental health issues. Many of our learners have more than one difficulty or disability. All our learners have unique strengths and personalities.
The College is an amazing place, we were so lucky to find it
98% of College learners agreed or strongly agreed that the teaching at the RNIB College is good
Younger learners typically aged 16-21 come to the College funded by the Learning Skills Council (L.S.C.) and are usually looking for the next stage in their education, a way of entering employment or a way of learning to live independently.
We also offer programmes for adult learners aged 18-63, who are unemployed and looking for help in gaining employment. These are very intensive employment orientated courses funded through the Jobcentre Plus (J.C.P.) or Residential Training Unit (R.T.U.).
We share a campus with Loughborough College and can offer you specialist support on a very wide range of mainstream courses. However we also offer individually tailored in-house programmes for learners who prefer this option.
Our website will provide you with a flavour of life here at the College. To find out more you can attend one of our visit days held throughout the year. This will give you the opportunity to see for yourself our modern, purpose built facilities, discuss your options with our staff and talk to some current learners.
I hope to be able to welcome you to the College and wish you well with your future decisions and career.
Tony Warren, Principal
