Each year the College hosts a special celebration event to recognise the contribution employers make to our students experience. All employers who have had students on work placement over the past year received a certificate, and the team also select three special awards winners. Attendees had the opportunity to meet Further Education students as well as those on the adult employment programme. They also watched a short film made by students about their work experience. Guests had a tour of the College enterprises to see the students in action, before sitting down for a lunch. The Main award went to Sip and Surf, Homefield College's internet café, the Debut award was awarded to Mo Wear a clothes printing project, and Charnwood Museum received our Special Recognition Award. Acting Principal June Murray said 'I want to thank all of the employers who have supported us this year through work placement and other employability activities. These experiences build self-esteem, confidence and communication skills, as well as the opportunity to be in a real work environment and gain vital work experience.'
